Acupuncture works over time with each successive treatment to help you progress in your goal(s) for health and wellness.
During your first visit,
I will work with you to customize a treatment plan. Most treatment plans start with 4-6 visits over the course of a month. For long term conditions, I will suggest more treatments, such as 10 to 15 over 4 to 8 weeks to work on the root of the condition and to see lasting results. A long term plan would look something like this: one to two treatments a week until the condition stabilizes, then I will start to taper the treatments until you only have to come in for “tune up” maintenance once a month.
Acupuncture works when treatments are close together. If the treatments are too far apart, the progress of treatment may slow down or the condition may worsen. Hence, receiving regularly scheduled treatments until your condition stabilizes is ideal until you reach the “tune-up” stage to keep it from coming back. All of my patients come in at least once a month for maintenance. Like a car, you want to keep your body in optimal shape to perform!
